New Developments

Following are the newest features that have been added to the WhiTek Engine Control System.  These features are optional and can be added to all existing Engine Control Systems.

SPEEDOMETER READOUT. With addition of any of various speedometer sensors, unit will display road speed in Miles per Hour or Kilometers per Hour.

METRIC READOUT. New metric display option allows the display of speed in Kilometers per Hour, oil pressure in Millibars, temperature in degrees Celsius, altitude in Meters.

OIL TEMPERATURE.  Allows the digital display of oil temperature.  It is installed in the oil feed line leaving the tank.

OIL PRESSURE.  Allows the display of oil pressure in digital format, and provides oil loss safety engine kill function.  Uses the Harley-Davidson oil pressure/idiot light sensor (P/N 74406-87), as is stock on some models of dressers.  This sensor is chrome plated and installs in place of the stock idiot light sender.  Our kit consists of a cable to connect the sensor to the MCU.  You can get the sensor from your local Harley-Davidson dealer. We try to keep a sensor in stock for your convenience.

BAROMETRIC PRESSURE.  Allows the Engine Control System to adjust the fuel mixture to compensate for changing atmospheric conditions and to adjust for altitude automatically.  It also allows an altimeter function, which displays the altitude while riding.  Our kit consists of a cable and connectors, which connects the sensor to the MCU.  The pressure sensor is available from your local Harley-Davidson dealer (P/N 32424-95), and we try to keep one in stock for your convenience.  This feature requires firmware version 4.04 or later.

SHIFT LIGHT.  The shift light has two functions, that of a shift light, which lights when the shift point RPM is exceeded, and that of a speed monitor, which blinks the light when the monitor speed RPM is exceeded while cruising.  Both the RPM limit and the speed monitor are adjustable while riding.

SOLENOID DRIVER MODULE.  A current amplifier, which allows the shift light output to drive an air shifter solenoid directly.  Also used to drive a high current aftermarket (non-WhiTek) shift light.

SYSTEM MANUAL.  Includes functions of Owners Manual and Installation Manual.  Describes firmware from version 3.02 on.  It is much more user friendly than older manual/firmware. The manual is included with new systems.

PROM VERSION X.XX.  This is our latest version of firmware.  It contains our newest features as they are developed. We're always trying to make the system even better.

NOTE:  Your MCU circuit card might require hardware upgrading to be compatible with these sensors.
